Public Alert: Beware of SLCPARK.com Parking Fee Text Scam

Beware a scam involving fraudulent text messages claiming to be from Salt Lake City’s parking services site. These messages are asking for payment of an “unpaid parking invoice”.

Be advised these messages are not legitimate and lead to an unauthorized website that is a payment site unaffiliated with Salt Lake City.

  • DO NOT click on the link
  • DO NOT provide any payment information
  • DO NOT reply to the text message
  • If you have already provided information as part of this scam, you should immediately contact your bank or credit card company to report fraudulent activity and then file a report with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) through the "Report Fraud" platform.

Salt Lake City is working with legal entities to address the matter and does not believe internal City systems were compromised. The scam appears to be similar to one other cities in the country have recently encountered.

Please make note of the following:

  • The legitimate parking service site for Salt Lake City is www.parkSLC.com
  • The official parking app for Salt Lake City is called “ParkSLC”
  • The official payment portal for parking fees is accessed through the City’s official website at https://www.slc.gov/payments/
  • Please share this message with your contacts to help stop this fraudulent act from spreading farther into our community.
